In this thread I'll be answering the most common questions people ask about Clickheat for Joomla 1.5.xx. Troubleshooting will also be discussed in this thread.

Note: To ensure everything is OK with Clickheat please add the following to the URL of any page on your website: "&chtest=1". If you see 'SUCCESS' message, it means that Clickheat is functioning properly.

Please note that it will NOT work without CURL and GD library. Please make sure those libraries are available on your server

Please make sure Clickheat plugin is installed and enabled, as it's essentially the "engine" of Clickheat.

Ensure that Joomla cache/ dir exists and writable.
Joomla cache dir located here: [YOUR_JOOMLA_SITE_DIR]/cache/.
There got to be a couple of folders:
heatmaps/ and tracker/
Please check if they're writable for your webserver.
If they're not writable, clickheat won't work.

One more reason for clickheat failure is lack of memory during heatmap building. You can increase memory limit via component parameters edit panel in admin.

Please set up layout settings in the backend of Clickheat component. Select from a list the one which fits your site's layout and specify page sections dimensions.

Clickheat module just outputs a hyper_link_ which opens a heatmap for a particular page (the one you're browsing) of your site.

Hi I have done all of the above and curl and gd is working
Plugin and component are installed and enabled
Also installed two writeable folders in cache as instructed

but still I cannot see any stats...can you advise what else might cause it please...
